After 10 years of detailed investigation and planning, a comprehensive plan has been developed to conserve the Chapel and provide much improved facilities for visitors. The Chapel will be refurbished, the stonework and stained glass windows conserved, the organ restored and a new visitor centre constructed.
The total cost of the work will be almost £13 million. In early 2007 Rosslyn was awarded a combined grant of more than £7million from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Historic Scotland. Together with a contribution from the Rosslyn Chapel Trust, this still leaves a sum of £2.25million to be raised from individual
donors and charitable foundations to enable the work to be completed.
